What happens when I have my Anti-Wrinkle treatment?

Prior to your antiwrinkle treatment, your practitioner will consult you on the treatments desired and assess if you are a suitable candidate.
The practitioner will take a medical history, discuss the treatment, side effects and post-care plan. Once the treatment plan is agreed and consent forms are signed, before and after photos are taken.

How long does Anti-Wrinkle treatment take?

Toxin injections are a fast and effective treatment which have minimal impact on your time and little to no downtime. It takes on average 30 minutes for each appointment depending on the area treated.

Any post treatment advice?

You can resume daily activities excluding exercise for 24 hours. It is common to have some redness and swelling following the treatment, although this usually resolves after a few hours.

Post-treatment there may be some tenderness, redness to the injection site, this is very normal and will subside, usually within a few days.

Avoid high-intensity exercise immediately following treatment for 24 hours
Avoid touching/rubbing areas injected
Remain upright for 3hrs afterwards
Exercise injected muscles
Avoid heavy alcohol consumption on the same day
Avoid hot environments on the same day (Sauna/Steam rooms/Hot bath)
Avoid anti-inflammatory painkillers for 24 hours
Keep hydrated with water especially for the first 24 hours
The full effect will be at around 2 weeks

Side effects and risks

All cosmetic procedures carry risks and side effects.
Common temporary side effects can last up to 2 weeks, but usually lasting on average 3-7 days following your treatment, and include; Tenderness at the injection site, swelling at the injection site, Bruising and Headaches.

Less frequent side effects are; Infection, Allergic reaction, Brow or Eyelid ptosis, Spock eyebrows, and Forehead heaviness. We list other rarer side effects on the consent form with reference to your specific treatments.

How long do anti wrinkle injections last?

The effects of anti-wrinkle toxins gradually fade but will last on average 3-6 months, depending on the treatment area and the individual’s lifestyle/ environment. When you start to notice the effects of your anti-wrinkle toxin wearing off you can repeat the treatment to maintain the appearance. It is advised that the anti-wrinkle injections should not be repeated more frequently than 3 months since the last treatment.
